The Prepayment Metering Forum (PPM Forum) is a group established to provide a forum for the exchange of, and discussion on, matters relating to all types of prepayment meters and the management of Tariff Bands for these meters.
PPM Forum has over 20 Members made up of large and small Suppliers, Prepayment Meter Infrastructure Providers (PPMIPs) and National Service Providers (NSPs). It also has representatives from industry groups and regulatory bodies. A full list of current Members can be found here.
The Forum currently convenes six times a year, a list of 2023 meeting dates can be found here.
Prepayment is the equivalent of ‘Pay as you go’, an alternative to a credit account. Smart meters can be remotely configured to be credit or prepayment by the supplier. Traditional (legacy) prepayment meters use a key to apply value to the meter.
A Key Supplier ID is a two digit identifier used in Dataflows. It is required for every Supplier & PPMIP combination, and is used for the allocation of transactions. A list of all Key Supplier IDs can be found here.
